ProjExec® Online Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is Software as a Service (SaaS)?
A. Software-as-a-Service is the delivery of application functionality through a subscription model over the Internet. The customer does not own the software or infrastructure, but instead "rents" a total solution that is delivered remotely. ProjExec® Online is delivered using the Software-as-a-Service model.
Q. How do I get started with my new ProjExec® Online account?
A.
Take the ProjExec® Online Tour for an introduction to the main features in ProjExec® Online, then view the Getting Started Tutorial (accessible once you have established an account) for a detailed set of instructions about how to set up and configure your first project. Context sensitive Help is available throughout ProjExec® Online. Need more assistance? You may also sign up for a one day training seminar. Contact Trilog for details.
Q. What are the terms of the “Try It” offer for ProjExec® Online?
A.
Potential customers may try a full-featured version of ProjExec® Online at no cost for a 30 day trial period. You may create up to 5 projects during the trial period for up to 10 users in total across all projects in your trial account.
Q. What happens when my 30 day trial period expires?
A.
You will receive an email reminder one week before your 30 day trial period expires. Once the trial period expires, you will have a 30 day grace period to subscribe to ProjExec® Online, during which time you will still be able to login to your ProjExec account, but will be unable to use the software. If you subscribe during the 30 day grace period, you will not lose any data created during your original trial period. After the 30 day grace period, your trial account will be deleted permanently.
Q. What web browser should I use to access ProjExec® Online?
A.
ProjExec® Online supports Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x and above, and Mozilla Firefox 2.x and above.
Q. Are there storage limitations with ProjExec® Online?
A.
Yes, there are two storage limitations. You cannot import an MS Project file greater than 10 MB. Also, you cannot attach files greater than 10 MB to documents created in the Documents, Discussions and Change Requests modules.
Q. Are there bandwidth limitations with ProjExec® Online?
A.
There are no bandwidth limitations.
Q. How many projects can I manage concurrently with ProjExec® Online?
A.
During a 30 day trial period you can manage up to 5 projects concurrently. As a full subscriber to ProjExec® Online, you can manage up to 1000 projects concurrently.
Q. How do I add new users once my ProjExec® Online account is established?
A.
Your ProjExec® Online Account Administrator(s) controls the number of users who can access your account based on your subscription. If your administrator has given you permission, you may invite users to register with ProjExec and join your project.
Q. Can I combine subscription types with my ProjExec® Online account?
A.
Yes, it is possible to commit to a certain number of users under an annual subscription, for example, and also add additional users on a month-to-month pay as you go basis. All subscription plans require a minimum of five paid users, even if you do not register a total of five individuals in your account.
Q. How do I deactivate users from my ProjExec® Online account?
A.
Only ProjExec® Online Account Administrators can deactivate users. It is important to deactivate users if they will no longer need to access ProjExec. This will allow you to better manage user capacity and to invite other users up to the total number allowed under your subscription. Project Managers can deactivate users, but only on the Project level. Note that users deactivated on the Project level will still be counted as active users on your account and potentially could be added to other projects by other Project Managers. Make sure you ask your Account Administrator to deactivate a user permanently once the user is deactivated on a project and should not be available for assignment to other projects.
Q. Can I import a project schedule previously created in Microsoft Project into my new ProjExec® Online account?
A.
Yes, you can import an MS Project schedule. You must save your MS Project file in XML format and then it can be imported to ProjExec. You can choose to import your MS Project file at the time you first create a project in ProjExec or after you have created your ProjExec project. You can also synchronize (import/export) your MS Project file with the ProjExec project any time.
Q. Is my data safe?
A.
Yes, all data is safe. We perform daily incremental and weekly full backups of the data.
Q. Can I recover my data?
A.
At any time you can export all of your data in XML format. This includes all the tasks, teams, timesheets, documents, discussions, issues, change requests and users in your ProjExec® Online account. You can also view your exported data in read only mode offline.
